HL Klemove’s Tech Center India (TCI) addresses a critical safety challenge of the electric vehicle era: the near-silent operation of electric motors at low speeds. While reduced noise improves urban comfort, it also introduces risks for pedestrians, cyclists, and visually impaired road users who rely on auditory cues to detect approaching vehicles.

To mitigate this risk, TCI has developed the Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS), which generates virtual engine sounds to signal vehicle presence. The team manages the complete software lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to system integration and validation, ensuring compliance with global OEM requirements and international safety regulations.

The AVAS platform is highly customizable, enabling unique brand sound signatures while meeting regulatory standards such as UN R138 and India’s AIS-173. Expertise across application software, communication stacks, diagnostics, and secure bootloaders ensures high performance and fail-safe reliability. Through close collaboration with global R&D teams, TCI delivers production-ready AVAS solutions optimized for dense urban environments and inclusive mobility.
